We are onto the last part of our series entitled “Does Your Child Have a Hidden Talent?” To recall what we have discussed so far, here is a list of the signs of a gifted child we have discussed in our previous blogs:
- Sorting objects
- Chatting nonstop
- Fiddling with things
- Daydreaming
- Solving puzzles
- Being bossy
Our list does not end there for we continue naming the other hobbies your child has that could lead them to future successes.
- Not staying still
Is your child always moving around as if he or she has a sugar overdose? If you order them to sit still, you may find them in other odd places in the room from being upside down on the couch to being stuck in the staircase. You just could not get your eyes off of that kid!
A child who wants to be on the go has bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. Meaning, he or she learns by being physical like touching things, working his or her body and feeling stuff.
Finding this characteristic in a child is bothersome as well as exciting for there are a lot of things he or she can be. The little one could grow up and become:
- An athlete
- A musician
- A dancer
Or there is also a possibility he or she will engage in jobs that do not bound them on the desk like being a:
- Teacher
- Park ranger
- Traveler
Who knows, maybe your little one will grow to be a fine chef someday.
You can help them improve their gift by:
- Preparing a lot of activities
- Giving them more physical tasks
- Letting them explore music
- Investing on their dance lessons
- Exploring the zoo
- Going on a family adventure
- Making a bedtime ritual to help them rest
- Setting nap times
Do not confuse your child’s activeness with ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. If you suspect that your child may be having ADHD, you need to consult an expert first. Always remember to never diagnose your child with a certain disorder or disease for it may bring harm to them rather than good.
So those are the signs of a child who possesses a gift that needs to be cultivated. As their parents, it is our task to discover their gift and encourage them to be the better version of themselves.
If you still have no idea what your little one’s interest may be, you do not have to fear. There are some children who bloom late. Thus, always be optimistic that you will eventually find their gift out in the future. Rather than feeling fear for tomorrow, you should be hopeful that your child is still exploring the right field for him or her.
Invest on various activities and prepare toys that will eventually ignite the gift inside of them. And when they do find their calling, it will surprise you like a beautiful firework show.
Another step you can take is to send them to a Montessori school that will help them discover their gift. We do just that here in Montessori Children’s House.
Montessori Children’s House is delighted to accommodate children no matter what their interests are. We want to let you know that a good provider of Early Childhood Education in Riverside, California such as our educational institution, we help nourish the gift in your child.
We have with us passionate staff that can provide them with the activities they need and the environment we expose your child is one that encourages independence without sacrificing safety and security.
What defines your child according to our list? What made you discover that sign? How did your child display their gift and how did you react on it? What did you do to help him or her improve on that aspect in their life?
